AND CEO

We believe sustainability is crucial to creating long-term value for our clients. Over the past year, we have continued to invest in and expand our sustainability program, further reduce our environmental footprint and foster positive impacts on employees and the communities in which we operate.

Below are a few of our noteworthy accomplishments in 2023:

• We continued to make significant progress toward our science-based emissions reduction goal. We have already achieved a 33.2% reduction in GHG emissions and remain on target to achieve a 50% reduction by 2029.
• Beyond green house gas emissions, we have made significant progress on reductions in energy consumption (26.7%), water consumption (21.9%) and waste diversion (48.3%) from 2019 baseline levels.
• We began implementing our on-site solar program and engaging with tenants at several managed industrial and office properties. Leveraging the significant rooftop space across our nationwide platform reduces the environmental footprint of our properties.
• Our clients continue to invest in increasing the number of ENERGY STAR®, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) and BOMA 360® certified assets, as these efforts ultimately help drive long-term value.
• We participated in programs designed to strengthen our workforce, increase the diverse perspectives among our employees and enhance our pipeline of talent. For example, our involvement with Project Destined allows us to mentor and attract students from backgrounds historically underrepresented in CRE.
• We continue to invest in our Engineering Apprenticeship Program to ensure we have the critical engineering talent needed for operations.
• We were named a Military Friendly® Employer. This designation reflects our efforts to support our veteran employees, strengthen connections with the veteran community and attract military veteran talent.
• In December, we acquired MPC Partnership Holdings LLC, now referred to as RMR Residential, a vertically integrated platform focused on multifamily residential properties across the Sunbelt. This transaction signals our entry into the multifamily residential commercial real estate sector and allows us the opportunity to build new relationships and grow our private capital assets under management. The addition of RMR Residential enables us to engage with residents and private capital institutions on sustainability matters in multifamily residential settings.

Since our founding in 1986, we have grown into a national organization with more than $41.4 billion in assets under management across all major sectors of commercial real estate. Our focus on sustainability ensures that we continue to find new avenues for growth as we manage our assets “like we own it.”
