Good Governance

RMR is committed to corporate governance that promotes the long term interests of our shareholders and other stakeholders.

Our Approach to ESG Governance

RMR’s Executive Operating Committee members oversee all functions of RMR and the integration of ESG policies and practices. Multiple RMR business units, including Energy & Sustainability, Real Estate Services, National Engineering, Human Resources, Investor Relations, Marketing, Internal Audit, Legal, Asset Management and Accounting report to the Committee and carry out sustainability activities.

We recognize that stakeholder engagement is an essential component of Good Governance and therefore engage with the Board of Trustees of each of our Equity REIT clients regularly to keep them informed of our progress, successes and challenges. Additionally, to ensure our sustainability program encompasses our entire business, we engage with and receive input from our operator clients: TravelCenters of America Inc. (TA), AlerisLife Inc. (ALR) and Sonesta International Hotels Corporation (Sonesta).

Policies Reinforce Beliefs and Practices

To deliver on our ESG commitments, which are integrated into our corporate strategy, we published formal policies reinforcing long held beliefs and practices across RMR and our clients.
